As you venture through our retail areas you can also discover passionate artists working on their craft, art curators that bring together beautiful work from artists and artisans alike, and you can uncover a bit of history through art pieces and restored signs painted on our buildings.

My oh My, That’s a Mural!

Historic Galt, Downtown Cambridge is the home to commissioned graffiti pieces, murals, and restored vintage advertisements and signs. Each of these pieces tells a story about the area's history, where we are or where we are going. Some of our favourite spots?

The Pandora Range McClary’s Stove Sign

Located right above the entrance to The Local Option, this McClary’s Stove sign, this vintage sign was restored in 2012 and is a popular spot for locals and visitors to check out.

#GaltWings Community Mural

Art of Home Mural

Located just outside The Art of Home, this mural was commissioned by The Art of Home team from artist Pellvetica as an interactive art piece in the community! Just a quick search of #GaltWings on Instagram will yield many photos of people posing in front of this beautiful artwork!

25 Water Street Mural

In 2017, artists covered the city in art during the Cambridge International Street Art Festival. Although this festival featured many large-scale temporary chalk works, there were multiple permanent pieces created. One of the permanent installations that were painted during this art event features two tumbling figures that cover the side of the 25 Water Street building. We definitely recommend adding this piece to your list of art spaces to visit!

The Cambridge Sculpture Garden

What is one thing that can make a peaceful walk by the river even sweeter? An outdoor Sculpture Garden that brings nature and art together in the city centre of Historic Galt, Downtown Cambridge. Located on Grand Avenue South, the Cambridge Sculpture Garden remains a favourite spot for locals to have a picnic, explore outdoor sculptures and enjoy nature with friends and family. This area is open 24/7 and free to the public!

Yulokod Studios

Discover the beauty of storytelling and enlightenment through the stained glass at Yulokod Studios. For over 40 years, resident artist and Yulokod founder, Tsunma Jamyang, has been creating and restoring stained glass windows many of which are found in sacred spaces including churches, synagogues, private shine and so much more. Tsunma Jamyang’s passion shines through her work. Step inside Yulokod Studios to see the exquisite stained glass art she has created and to learn more about the craft.
